Letter from the New Wound Care Nurse
Hey there! My name is Gerrin (pronounced “Jerrin”) Patton and I am the new Wound Care Nurse here at Madison. I was born and raised here in Madison County, have an enormous family, and am most likely kin to half of the county. I currently hold two degrees, a bachelor of science in environmental health science, and an associate degree of nursing, both from Eastern Kentucky University. (My mom calls me the eternal colonel because I’m always going back to school.) I have worked in healthcare for the past 4 years in the acute setting in fields of orthopedics, neurology, emergency and trauma. I have always enjoyed working with wounds, and have always had the long-term goal of becoming a wound nurse. I take exceptional pride in preventing wounds, treating them and watching them heal. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my two amazing young men, Jackson and Maddox, ages 13 and 10, who keep me very active. If I’m not at a soccer field, a baseball field, or a basketball court, you can find me somewhere on a mountaintop hiking with my significant other, Kevin. I look forward to making a positive difference here at Madison Health and Rehab and would love to meet everyone’s family members so feel free to stop by my office any time.
