Short-Term Therapy Success Story
“Hi, my name is Paula J. and on August 12th my journey to know Madison Health and Rehab began. See, I was living at home and fell and broke my left shoulder in three different places and sported a large hematoma on my left knee. I was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Richmond, where I was admitted and told that I did not qualify for surgery; my shoulder would have to heal on its own. On August 15, I was transferred to Madison Health and Rehabilitation where I have had a wonderful experience. It started with therapy. While they couldn’t do much with my left arm, they worked hard to keep my right arm strong. The nurses and aides were all so good to me too. After eight weeks, they were able to do therapy on my left arm too. Tara and Lora were the OT’s that helped me, while Micheal and Lisa completed PT with me, doing exercises to keep my movement going. It is now November 7th, and i am going home tomorrow! It’s bitter sweet, as I want to go home, but have made so many friends here at Madison: the nurses, aides, therapists, doctors, etc. I can’t begin to thank them enough and name them all. Most of all i want to thank the excellent therapy team they have here. I want to thank you for getting my left shoulder in good shape! Thank you, Tara and Lora, for that. I want to thank Lisa and Micheal for all the PT, and I can’t leave without also thanking Kellie. I did not have her for speech therapy, although she is a thumbs up girl I’d say! Thank you to everyone that made my stay such a good experience. I love you all and I will miss you so much.”
