Letter from the Administrator

Hello Madison Families-

I wanted to reach out and share some exciting news! Many of you already know me, as I have been the Director of Social Services at Madison Health and Rehab for over 11 years. For those families and residents who are new to our facility, my name is Mica Collins, and I recently stepped into the role of Administrator at Madison Health and Rehab.

I wanted to share a little about myself so you can all get to know me better. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Social Work in 1999 from Eastern Kentucky University. This year I proudly completed my Master’s in Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University. My social work career began working for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. After working for CHFS for many years, I made the transition to my long-term care career in Lexington at a skilled nursing facility. I fell in love with the elderly population and their families. Soon after in 2010, I moved here to Madison Health and Rehab as the Social Service Director and have been here ever since. This facility feels like home and the staff, residents, and families feel like part of my big extended family.

When not at work, I can be found being a taxi driver for my two busy children. My daughter is 12 and is in drama club at her middle school. My son is 10, and is into all thing’s sports, soccer (lots of soccer), basketball, and even football. With all of this said there is not time for much else, but I do enjoy spending time with my family, movie nights, and attending community events.

The most important thing for me with this newfound leadership in the facility is for you to know that my door is always open. I want us to work together to ensure your loved one has the best care possible and that they truly feel loved and cared for. These past two years have been quite crazy with the COVID-19 pandemic, changing regulations, and certain mandates. I want you to know that I will do my very best to keep you informed as things continue to change and restrictions continue to be lifted. The safety and happiness of our residents is of the upmost importance to our team here at Madison.
